Randy is NorthStar’s National Chief Anesthetist Officer. In this role, Randy oversees all CRNA services including staffing, recruiting, retention, and operational deployment of our teams. Randy has extensive experience in leadership development in the field of anesthesia care and has a proven track record for building strong leadership teams at the local and executive levels. He most recently served as the CEO of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), during which time he led significant transformational changes for the organization. A strong proponent of patient safety and clinical leadership, Randy has served on the Boards of the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, Council on Surgical and Perioperative Safety, and the AANA. Randy has a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama, an MBA from Southern Illinois University, an MSN (anesthesia concentration) from Bradley University, and a BSN from Northern Illinois University.
